The Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) press release – South East contractor takes home top award!02 Oct 2019, by News in
One of the South East’s leading painting and decorating sub-contractors has scooped a prestigious industry award.
Cousins Ltd was presented with the Residential Project of the Year accolade at the 31st Premier Trophy Awards, organised by national trade body the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA).
Held at Plaisterers’ Hall, London, the glittering annual event celebrates the excellence of the painting and decorating industry, showcasing the workmanship of members across seven different categories.
The award was given to Cousins Ltd – which has its headquarters in Eversley – for the major works undertaken for Signature Senior Living at their new development in Reigate.
Using Dulux Trade products, the company was commended by the judges for the superior finish on the walls, wall coverings and wood finishes.
The accolade also recognised the contract’s time constraints and the superior management skills that ensured the project was completed on time.
Tina Roots, Contracts Manager at Cousins Ltd – who collected the award – said: “I think the team are still in disbelief that we won, we are over the moon.
“It’s such a huge achievement for all involved and it was one hundred percent a team effort, and something that we are very proud of.”
Cousins Ltd, established over 40 years ago, work directly for property-owning clients and principal contractors, painting some of the largest and most prestigious construction projects in the UK.
Neil Ogilvie – Chief Executive of the PDA – hosted the awards luncheon. He said: “Not only did Cousins Ltd pick up the Residential Project of the Year award, but also a Very Highly Commended certificate in the Highly Decorative category.
“The awards ceremony was a huge success for them, and the team should be extremely proud of themselves.
“It was also great to welcome Tina back up on stage, nearly 20 years after she was awarded the Apprentice Trainee of the Year accolade.”
Dulux Trade was the main sponsor of this year’s event, and Alistair McAuley, Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, was the guest speaker at the ceremony and presented the awards alongside Rachel Morris, Chief Executive of the Institute of Clerks of Works & Construction Inspectorate.
This press release was issued by Jane Shepherd, Shepherd PR on behalf of The Painting and Decorating Association (PDA), established in July 2002, following a merger of the British Decorators’ Association and the Painting & Decorating Federation. The British Decorators’ Association was originally founded in 1894.
