Did you know that packaging from paint cans accounts for 10-20% of the total environment footprint? This is why Cousins Group is part of the Dulux Decorator Centre in-store can recycle scheme, and has been for many years!

This great initiative offers a practical and sustainable solution for disposing of our empty cans of both solvent and water-based paints, allowing us to recycle them in a simple and free manner. And if the cans contain some residual paint, you can even donate it to Community Repaint, a paint reuse network sponsored by Dulux.

The metal and plastic materials are collected separately, meaning they can be managed differently. Metals are sent for a high temperature treatment which safely removes solvent residue and then they are recycled into new steel products. Plastic cans, however, can be cleaned, chipped, and reprocessed allowing them to turn into brand new plastic products.

We all know that looking after our environment has never been more important. This scheme reflects our objective to reduce our environmental impact and enables us to monitor how much we are recycling over the year. Over the coming weeks and months, we will be sharing with you our own stats with the recycling figures we have achieved, so keep an eye out for our latest insights coming soon!

We are extremely proud to be part of this scheme with Dulux Decorator Centre, helping to protect the environment and reduce our carbon footprint.
