Project tasks and challenges

This building is listed, so working closely with the conservation officer was key in making sure the repair materials and finish matched existing features.

The building was fully surveyed initially to ensure the work meets the conservation officer approval. A traffic management plan had to be put in place including road closure to allow scaffold to be erected. What’s more, the building had to be doff cleaned to a precise temperature to avoid damage.

The schedule of works covered a full range of tasks, from repairs to the octagonal chimney stack and external stucco and stone, to full redecoration of the building.
